This fashionable dress is crocheted from multi-colored blocks of wool blend yarn.

You will need: 4 (4) 5 (5) skeins of black, 3 (3) 3 (3) skeins of gray, 3 (3) 4 (4) skeins of light beige, 4 (5) 5 (6) skeins of milky color, 4 (4) ) 4 (5) skeins of dark gray and 3 (4) 4 (4) skeins of light brown Katia “Bacic Merino” yarn (52% merino superwash wool, 48% acrylic; 120 m/50 g) or 2 (2) 3 ( 3) skein black, 2 (2) 2 (2) skein gray, 2 (2) 2 (2) skein light beige, 2 (3) 3 (3) skein milky, 2 (2) 2 (2) skein dark gray and 2 (2) 2 (2) skeins of light brown yarn Katia “Merino Classic” (52% merino superwash wool, 48% acrylic; 240 m/100 g); hook number 4.
Knitting patterns for dresses
Colored pattern using intarsia technique: knit with threads from different balls, use a separate skein for each color section and, when changing colors, cross the threads on the wrong side to avoid the formation of holes.
Single crochets. Knit according to pattern A.
Fantasy patterns. Knit according to patterns B, C and D.
Multi-colored blocks. Knit according to patterns E and F.
Knitting density.
Single crochet: 16 p. and 19 r. = 10 x 10 cm.
Fantasy pattern: 17 p. and 19 r. = 10 x 10 cm.
Description of knitting
Back. Consists of 12 blocks made with threads of different colors and different patterns. Some blocks are connected transversely, others vertically. See the location of the blocks in diagram E, the arrows indicate the direction of knitting.
Block 1A: Using black thread, make the initial chain of 32 (36) 38 (42) loops and knit 15 cm st. b/n in accordance with diagram A. Cut the thread, pass through the last loop and pull off, finishing the work.
Block 2B: Continue knitting block 1A with a light brown thread in a fancy pattern according to pattern B, while in the 1st row evenly add 2 loops = 34 (38) 40 (44) loops. After 8 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 3C: Using a gray thread, starting from the purl row, continue knitting block 2B (the same number of loops) with a fancy pattern according to pattern C. After 7 cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 4A: The block is made with a colored pattern using the intarsia technique, starting from the back row. Continue knitting block 3C st. b/n according to scheme A as follows: 6 loops with black thread and 26 (30) 32 (36) loops with light beige thread. After 4 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 5A: this block is knitted in the transverse direction, along the common edge of blocks 1 A, 2 B. 3C and 4A. Using a dark gray thread, knit along the edge of 54 sts. b/n according to scheme A.
After 34 (37) 39 (42) cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 6B: Using black thread, starting from the purl row, knit 1 row of st. b/n along the edge of block 5A and part of block 4A, made with black thread = 64 (70) 74 (78) st. b/n. Then knit with a fancy pattern according to pattern B.
After 6 cm = 11 rows, continue knitting only the first 28 loops.
After 16 cm from the starting row = 30 rows, counting the first 11 rows, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 7C: knit along the edge of block 6B (see: the gray arrow on block 7C indicates the direction of the 1st row), attach new rows to block 6B, knitting 1 connection. Art. (see connection example in diagram D). Knit 18 rows in a fancy pattern according to pattern C.
After 22 (25) 27 (30) cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 8A: Using a light beige thread, continue knitting the last row of block 4A, knitted with a light beige thread. Attach new rows to block 6B, knitting 1 connection. Art. (as for block 7C). Knit 26 (28) 32 (36) st. b/n according to scheme A.
After 16 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 9C: This block is made with a colored intarsia pattern, starting with the last row of blocks 8A, 6B and 7C. Knit with a fancy pattern according to pattern C, distributing the loops as follows: 54 (58) 62 (64) loops with milky thread and 38 (42) 46 (52) loops with light brown thread. After 4 cm from the starting row, cut the threads and finish the work.
Block 10C: Using a milky thread, starting from the front row, continue knitting 64 (74) 80 (88) stitches of block 9C with a fantasy pattern according to pattern C.
After 3 cm from the starting row = 5 rows in the purl row, continue to knit only the first 36 (42) 48 (54) loops.
Neck. After 20 (21) 22 (23) cm from the initial row for the neckline, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 11 A: knit along the right edge of the 10C block, attach new rows to the 10C block, knitting 1 connection. Art. (same as for block 7C). Knit 26 (28) 30 (32) st. b/n according to scheme A. After 20 (21) 22 (23) cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 12A: knitted crosswise along the left edge of block 10C. Connect new rows to block 9C using 1 connection. Art. (same as for block 7C). Perform a chain of 4 air. p. and continue knitting 32 (34) 36 (38) st. b/n according to pattern A along the edge of block 10C (the gray arrow indicates the direction of knitting for block 12 A). In the next row, knit the cast-on air loops according to the pattern = 36 (38) 40 (42) loops. After 16.5 (18) 19 (20.5) cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Before. Knit like a back.
Right sleeve. For the sleeves, first sew shoulder seams 16.5 (18) 19 (20.5) cm on both sides with a mattress seam (see zigzag lines in the diagram). Set aside 18 (19) 20 (21) cm for the armholes on both sides of the shoulder seam, as shown by the wavy line in diagram F (the side arrow indicates the direction of knitting), knit 1 row of stitches with dark gray thread. b/n = 62 (66) 68 (72) loops. Continue as follows:
Block 1B: Using a dark gray thread, continue knitting with a fantasy pattern according to pattern B. After 10 cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 2C: With black thread, continue knitting with a fantasy pattern according to pattern C. After 3 cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 3A: With a milky thread, continue knitting st. b/n according to pattern A, evenly decreasing 4 loops = 58 (62) 64 (68) loops. After 12 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 4B: Continue knitting with a light beige thread in a fancy pattern according to pattern B, evenly adding 4 loops = 62 (66) 68 (72) loops. After 16 (17) 18 (19) cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Left sleeve. Along the edge of the second armhole, use gray thread to knit 1 row of 62 (66) 68 (72) sts. b/n.
Continue knitting as follows:
Block 1B: knit with a gray thread in a fancy pattern according to pattern B. After 10 cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 2A: continue knitting with black thread st. b/n according to pattern A, evenly decreasing 4 loops = 58 (62) 64 (68) loops. After 5 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 3C: Continue knitting with a light brown thread in a fancy pattern according to pattern C, evenly adding 4 loops = 62 (66) 68 (72) loops. After 11 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 4A: continue knitting with black thread st. b/n according to pattern A, evenly decreasing 4 loops = 58 (62) 64 (68) loops. After 4 cm from the starting row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Block 5B: Continue knitting with a milky thread in a fancy pattern according to pattern B, evenly adding 4 loops = 62 (66) 68 (72) loops. After 11 (12) 13 (14) cm from the initial row, cut the thread and finish the work.
Assembly. Fold the piece in half, sew the side seams and sleeve seams with a mattress stitch.
Sleeve trims. Use black thread to make an initial chain of 7 chain stitches. P.
1st row: knit 1 connection. Art. in each of the 6 air. p. and attach to the edge of the sleeve, knitting 2 connections. Art.
Note. You should always knit 2 connections. Art. in sleeve loops: 1 connection. Art. to attach the bar to the edge of the sleeve, and 1 connection. st. to move to the next row. Rotate the work. Next, knit the connection. art., inserting the hook behind the back wall of the connection. p. of the previous row.
2nd row: 1 connection. Art. in each of the 6 loops of the previous row, 1 air. p., turn the work.
3rd row: 1 connection. Art. in each of the 6 loops of the previous row, knit 2 connections. st. to attach the placket to the edge of the sleeve.
Repeat rows 2 and 3.
To connect the beginning and end of the bar, knit 6 connections. st., simultaneously grabbing the walls of 2 p.
Knit the straps of the second sleeve, neck and bottom of the dress in the same way.
