Granny square knitted coat

“Ungranny” use of the granny square.

The coat is decorated with a combination of granny squares of different sizes, colored stripes, and asymmetry in the arrangement of the pattern.

Size 48-52.

Required: yarn – 700 g denim color (Pechorka “Denim Row”, 100 g/250 m) and 350 g gray (combined with denim thread) (YarnArt “Angora de Luxe”, 100 g/520 m); 
for finishing stripes and motifs - 100 g each of purple and pink yarn (Yarna “Freestyle”, 50% wool, 50% acrylic; 100 g/400 m), pink-violet melange (Alize “Cashmira”, 100% wool; 100 g/300 m) and green color (Troitskaya “Lux”, 100% wool, 50 g/200 m); knit pink, purple and green threads in 3 layers, melange in 1 thread; hook No. 4 for main crochet and hook No. 2 for small squares; 6 buttons with a diameter of 1.8-2 cm.

Knit colorful squares:

 1 large square for the left shelf of 12 rows,

1 large square for the back of 11 rows (width 26cm, last row C1H in the main color) for the back according to pattern 1,

 2+3 small squares from 2 rows,

1 square in 3 rows,

2+1 squares of 4 rows,

 2+1 – from 5 rows,

1+1 – from 7 rows.

 Knit the last row of all squares (except large ones) with C1H, then tie with a finishing step. Crochet small squares with 2.0 crochet using half-weight threads.

 Choose colors based on the photo or according to your taste.

Scheme 1.

 For the back cast on 95 VP + 2 VP rises and knit 1 row C1H, the next 4 rows - fillet mesh of 1 C1H and 1 VP, 2 more rows - C1H (pattern 2).

 Then knit 26cm colored stripes according to pattern 3.

Choose colors based on the photo or according to your taste.

 Continue working with two rows of sc in the main color and 4 rows of embossed columns, colors pink, purple, green and main, respectively.

Next, knit with the main color C1H 27cm (22 rows).

 After this, start making the hole for the square. On the first 27 stitches, knit a strip of 27 cm (24 rows) with the main thread up.

Skip the middle 41 stitches, attach a yarn and work a strip on the last 27 stitches.

Sew a square of 11 rows into the resulting hole with three sides.

At the same time as knitting the stripes, starting from the 15th row, add 7 stitches for the sleeves along the edges, 1 in each row.

On the stripes and square, knit another 17.5 cm (17 rows) of C1H with the main thread.

 For the left shelf cast on 47 VP + 2 VP rises and knit 1 row C1H, the next 4 rows are a fillet mesh of 1 C1H and 1 VP, as on the back.

 Knit 1 more row - C1H and sew a square of 12 rows. Along the top of the square, tie 27 rows of the pattern (diagram 4) with embossed columns.

Continue working with 3 rows of embossed columns, colors pink, purple and green respectively.

 Next, knit fabric C1H with the main thread.

 At a height of 79 cm, start adding for the sleeve - 7 times 1 stitch, as on the back.

At a height of 98cm, start making the neckline, first decrease 16 stitches, then 4 times 1, ending with a vertical edge.

 The total height of the shelf is 109 cm.

 For the right shelf cast on 47 VP + 2 VP rises and knit 1 row C1H, the next 4 rows are a fillet mesh of 1 DC and 1 VP, as on the back.

 Then knit 71 cm with fabric C1H.

 Continue working with 4 rows of embossed columns, the main colors being pink, purple and green.

 Next, knit the fabric C1H, at a height of 79 cm, start increasing for the sleeve - 7 times, 1 stitch, as on the back.

At a height of 98cm, start making the neckline, first decrease 16 stitches, then 4 times 1, ending with a vertical edge.

 Sew the shoulder seams.

For the sleeve tie the main color 78 C1H along the armhole, then 3 rows of relief columns, the colors are green, purple and pink, respectively.

 Continue with the main color - 1 row C1H, 1 row - fillet mesh of 1 C1H and 1VP, 1 row C1H in which make 7 decreases evenly.

 Next are 22 rows of colored knitting according to pattern 3.

 Finish the sleeve with 2 rows of C1H in the main color, 3 rows of embossed columns, colors green, purple and pink, respectively, 1 row of C1H in the main color and a crab step.

 Planks. On the left shelf, knit 157 sc and 6 more rows.

 On the right shelf, knit 157 sc, after the 3rd row of sc, make 3 buttonholes.

Along the neck knit 126 sc and 5 more rows, in the 4th row on the right side make 1 button loop.

Then tie the strips and neckline with 2 rows of sc with colored threads (1st row - pink, 2nd row - purple) and a finishing stitch with green thread.

Finishing side bottom strips.

From the bottom of the square of the left shelf along the side line, knit with the main thread 46 C1H and 2 more rows of C1H, in the 3rd row of C1H, decrease 1 loop along the edges.

 Tie the bar along the free sides with 2 rows of sc, (1st row - pink, 2nd row - purple) and a finishing stitch with green thread.

 Symmetrically tie the bar along the side line of the right shelf. For finishing, knit chains of varying lengths from purple, pink and green yarn and thread them along the C1H fabric on the shelves.

 Sew the squares onto the front and back.
