Dimensions: S – M – L – XL – XXL – XXXL
You will need:
Yarn DROPS LIMA (65% wool, 35% alpaca, 100m/50g)
550-600-650-700-800-850 g, color 9021, brick red
or DROPS KARISMA yarn (100% wool, 100m/50g)
550-600-650-700-800-850 g, color 82, maroon
Spokes:
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 4 mm, line length 40 cm and 60-60-80-80-80-80 cm.
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 3.5 mm, line length 40 cm and 60-60-80-80-80-80 cm.
DROPS stocking needles size 4 mm.
DROPS stocking needles size 3.5 mm.
For knitting, you can use the MAGIC LOOP technique - in this case you will need circular knitting needles on 80 cm fishing line of all specified sizes.
Knitting density:
21 stitches and 28 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
Note! The knitting needle sizes are given as a guideline. If there are too many stitches in a 10cm knitted pattern, use larger needles. If there are too few stitches in the 10 cm sample, take smaller needles.
EXPLANATIONS FOR KNITTING:
shawl knitting (knitting in rotating rows):
Knit all rows with facial stitches.
1 edge of garter stitch in height = 2 rows with knit stitches.
PERFORMANCE OF INCREASES:
To increase, make 1 yarn over after every second section of purl stitches. In the next circular row, knit yarn overs with crossed purl loops so that there are no holes.
UNIFORM INCREASES:
To calculate the rhythm of performing uniform increases, divide the total number of stitches on the needles (for example, 175 stitches) by the number of increases that must be made (for example, 15) = 11.7. In this example, to increase, make 1 yarn over approximately after every 12th loop. In the next round, knit yarn overs with crossed knit stitches so that there are no holes.
PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Choose a pattern for your size.
DECREASES ON SLEEVES:
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker like this: knit until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, knit 2 (the marker will remain between these loops), knit 2 stitches together with a knit stitch slanting to the left.
TIP FOR CLOSURE LOOPES:
To prevent the closed edge from being pulled, you can use a larger needle size to bind off the stitches. If in this case the edge pulls, during closure you can make 1 yarn over approximately after every 6th loop and close it like a regular loop.
KNITTING DESCRIPTION:
JUMPER, brief description of work:
Knit the neckline and yoke in the round on circular needles, from the middle of the back, from top to bottom. Divide the yoke into the body and sleeves and continue knitting the body on circular needles in the round. Sleeves are knitted in the round on short circular/sock needles, from top to bottom.
NECK:
Cast on 100-104-108-116-120-124 stitches on 3.5 mm short circular needles using DROPS Lima or DROPS Karisma yarn.
Work 1 round with knit stitches, then knit ribbing in the round (k1 crossed, p1) to a height of 3-3-3-3-4-4 cm.
Then add 1 loop after every second purl loop (add purl loops), see knitting instructions = 125-130-135-145-150-155 stitches.
When the elastic is knitted to a height of 6-6-6-7-8-8 cm, add 1 purl loop after the remaining purl loops = 150-156-162-174-180-186 loops.
When the elastic is knitted to a height of 9-9-9-11-12-12 cm, after every second purl section, add another purl stitch = 175-182-189-203-210-217 stitches.
Continue knitting the elastic until it measures 10-10-10-12-13-13 cm.
YOKE:
Change the knitting needles to circular needles of size 4 mm and knit 4 circular rows with stockinette stitch, AT THE SAME TIME in the 3rd circular row evenly add 15-18-21-25-30-35 loops (see explanation for knitting) = 190-200- 210-228-240-252 loops.
After the 4th round in stockinette stitch, work pattern A.1 in the round (= 19-20-21-19-20-21 repeats 10-10-10-12-12-12 stitches).
Continue knitting the pattern. WATCH THE DENSITY OF KNITTING!
When A.1 is fully knitted in height, there are 285-300-315-342-360-378 stitches on the needles and the yoke height is approx. 19-19-19-23-24-24 cm from the cast-on edge.
Continue knitting in stockinette stitch and AT THE SAME TIME in the first round evenly add 18-24-30-32-34-40 stitches = 303-324-345-374-394-418 stitches.
When the yoke measures 21-21-21-25-26-26 cm, evenly increase 13-16-19-22-25-28 stitches on the next round = 316-340-364-396-419-446 stitches.
For sizes S, M and L, all increases have been completed - go to the words “For all sizes”.
SIZES XL, XXL and XXXL:
Continue knitting in stockinette stitch until the height of the yoke is 27-28-29 cm.
In the next round, increase 8-9-14 stitches evenly = 404-428-460 stitches. Increases have been completed for sizes XL, XXL and XXXL - proceed to the words “For all sizes”.
FOR ALL SIZES:
= 316-340-364-404-428-460 stitches.
Continue knitting in stockinette stitch without increasing until the height of the yoke is 23-25-27-29-31-33 cm from the cast-on edge.
In the next round, divide the yoke into body and sleeves like this:
knit in stockinette stitch 46-50-53-59-64-70 stitches (= ½ back),
slip the next 66-70-76-84-86-90 stitches onto the holder (=sleeve) and cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (=undercut),
knit the next 92-100-106-118-128-140 stitches in stockinette stitch (= front),
slip the next 66-70-76-84-86-90 stitches onto the holder (=sleeve) and cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (=undercut),
work the remaining 46-50-53-59-64-70 stitches in stockinette stitch (= ½ back stitch).
Continue knitting the body and sleeves separately. FURTHER MEASUREMENTS SHOULD BE MADE FROM THIS PLACE!
BODY:
= 196-212-228-252-276-300 stitches.
Place 1 marker in the middle of the new 6-6-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches on both sides. Move these markers as you knit, they mark where the body is divided into front and back for knitting cuts.
Start the round after the marker on the right side (when the garment is worn) and knit in stockinette stitch in the round to a height of 17 cm.
There is about 6 cm left to the final length of the jumper. Try on the product and, if necessary, knit to the desired length.
Next, divide the work into the front and back. Leave the first 98-106-114-126-138-150 stitches on the needles, and slip the remaining stitches onto other needles or a holder.
BEFORE:
To prevent the elastic from being pulled, add loops as described below.
Knit 1 row on the right side of the work and evenly add 29-31-35-37-41-45 stitches = 127-137-149-163-179-195 stitches.
Change the knitting needles to circular ones of size 3.5 mm and knit an elastic band like this:
ROW 1 (wrong side of work): 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * 1 purl crossed, k1 *, repeat stitches between stars until 2 stitches remain, 1 purl crossed, 1 edge garter stitch.
ROW 2 (right side of work): 1 garter stitch edge, * k1 crossed, p1 *, repeat stitches between stars until 2 stitches remain, k1 crossed, 1 garter stitch edge.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the elastic is 6 cm.
Close the loops according to the pattern on the front side of the work, see the tip for closing the loops.
Jumper length – approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm from shoulder down.
BACK:
Slip 98-106-114-126-138-150 stitches from the holder or other stitches onto 4 mm circular needles.
Close the loops according to the pattern on the front side of the work.
SLEEVES:
Slip 66-70-76-84-86-90 stitches from the holder on one side onto 4mm stocking/short circular needles and pick up 1 stitch over each of the previously cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches = 72-76-84-92-96-100 stitches.
Place marker in the middle of 6-6-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches. Move the marker as you knit, it will be used when making decreases on the sleeve.
Begin the round after the marker and knit in stockinette stitch in the round.
When 2 cm from the separation point is knitted, decrease 2 loops on the sleeve, see the explanation for knitting (1 loop on each side of the marker).
Make such decreases every 3½-3-2½-1½-1½-1½ cm, for a total of 11-12-14-18-19-20 times = 50-52-56-56-58-60 stitches.
Continue knitting until the sleeve length is 39-37-36-34-32-31 cm from the division point (larger sizes have shorter sleeves due to a wider neckline and a longer yoke).
There is about 6 cm left to the final sleeve length. Try on the jumper and, if necessary, continue knitting to the desired length.
Knit 1 round with knit stitches and evenly add 2-4-2-4-4-6 stitches = 52-56-58-60-62-66 stitches.
Change the knitting needles to stocking needles size 3.5 mm and knit an elastic band (knit 1, purl 1) to a height of 6 cm.
Close the loops according to the drawing.
Sleeve length – approx. 45-43-42-40-38-37 cm from the separation point.
Knit the second sleeve as well.
