Green vest with braids

Parade of patterns! The wool vest - the absolute leader of the autumn-winter season - shows us a luxurious collage of braids, elastic and pearl patterns. The imitation of short sleeves, emphasizing the feminine roundness of the shoulders, gives the model a special charm.

Dimensions: 34/36 (38/40) 42/44

You will need: yarn (100% wool; 75 m/50 g) – 500 (550) 600 g green; knitting needles No. 5 and 6; circular knitting needles No. 5, 60 cm long; 1 auxiliary knitting needle for braids.

Rubber: alternately knit 2, purl 2.

Pearl pattern: alternately knit 1, purl 1, shift the pattern by 1 stitch in each row.

Braid pattern (for 46 sts): knit according to the given pattern. The numbers on the right indicate the facial rows, which are read from right to left.

In the purl rows, knit loops according to the pattern.

In width on the given 46 stitches, knit 1 time. Repeat in height from 1st to 48th row.

Knitting density: 16 p. x 25 r. = 10 x 10 cm, knitted with a pearl pattern; 46 stitches of braid pattern = 20 cm wide.

The samples are made on knitting needles No. 6.

Back: on knitting needles No. 5, cast on 86 (94) 102 sts and, starting from the purl row, knit for the bottom bar 4.5 cm = 11 r. with an elastic band, while in the last row on the section of middle 38 (40) 40 p. knit from broaches 8 (6) 6 times 1 crossed, evenly distributing increases = 94 (100) 108 p.

Switch to needles No. 6 and continue working, distributing the loops as follows: edge stitch, 23 (26) 30 stitches of pearl pattern, 46 stitches of braid pattern, 23 (26) 30 stitches of pearl pattern, edge stitch.

 After 39 cm = 98 rub. (38 m = 96 rub.) 37 cm = 92 rub. from the bottom bar, close on both sides for armholes 1 time, 4 p. = 86 (92) 100 p.

After 15 cm = 38 r. (17 cm = 42 rub.) 19 cm = 48 rub. from the beginning of the armhole, close the middle 30 (32) 36 stitches for the neckline and then knit each side separately.

 To round the neckline, close from the inner edge in every 2nd r. 1 time 5 p. and 1 time 3 p.

Close the remaining 20 (22) 24 stitches of the shoulder in one row after 2 cm = 6 r. from the beginning of the neck. Finish the second side symmetrically.

Before: knit like a back, but with a deeper neckline.

To do this, after 9 cm = 22 r. (11 cm = 28 rub.) 13 cm = 32 rub. from the beginning of the armholes, close the middle 30 (32) 36 sts and then knit each side separately.

To round the neckline, close from the inner edge in every 2nd r. 1 time 3 p., 1 time 2 p. and 3 times 1 p.

 Close the remaining 20 (22) 24 stitches of the shoulder at the same height as on the back. Finish the second side symmetrically.

Assembly: Stretch the parts to size, moisten and leave until dry.

Sew side and shoulder seams.

 On circular knitting needles No. 5, cast on 56 (64) 72 sts along the edge of each armhole and knit in rows in the forward and reverse directions with an elastic band.

After 2.5 cm = 5 r. close the loops according to the drawing.

 On the short sides, sew the strips to the edges of the armholes with closed loops.

Using circular knitting needles No. 5, cast on 88 (92) 100 stitches along the edge of the front and back neckline and knit 2.5 cm = 5 rounds. R. with an elastic band. Then close the loops according to the drawing.
