Cardigan in the style of a French blouse

French blouses are incredibly popular now, and we propose to knit this cardigan in the style of a French blouse according to a very detailed description.

Continue knitting in the established order until all 12 rows of patterns A and B are knitted.

13th row (knit): 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73, 79) knit stitches, 1st row of pattern B, 1st row of pattern A, 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73 , 79) facial loops.

14th row (purl): 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73, 79) purl loops, 2nd pattern A, 2nd row of pattern B, 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73, 79) purl loops.

122nd row (purl): 7 purl loops, knit 4 times repeat of the 2nd row of pattern B, knit 4 times repeat of the 2nd row of pattern A, 7 purl loops.

Only for sizes S-3XL:

Repeat the front row of decreases - 2 loops are decreased.

Knit row 1 straight - on knitting needles - (104, 114, 126, 136, 148, 158) loops.

Place the lining loops on the loop holder.

Left shelf:

Using size 3 needles, cast on 56 (62, 68, 74, 80, 86, 92) stitches.

Work 4 rows with knit stitches, slipping first stitch of each purl row.

5th row (front): knit stitches to the last 3 stitches, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, 1 knit stitch.

6th row (purl): slip 1 stitch, knit stitches to end of row.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 2 more times.

Change the needles to number 3.5 and start knitting the main pattern.

1st row (front): 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73, 79) knit stitches, 1st row of pattern A, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, 1 knit stitch.

2nd row (purl): slip 1 stitch, knit 2, 2nd row of pattern A, purl 43 (49, 55, 61, 67, 73, 79).

Continue knitting in the established order until all 12 rows of pattern A are knitted, then knit the next 12 rows with pattern B.

These 24 rows establish the order in which the patterns are knitted.

Pockets:

Row 25 (knit): K13 (17, 23, 27, 31, 37, 41), place next 20 (22, 22, 24, 26, 26, 28) sts on stitch holder, then across RS knit 20 (22, 22, 24, 26, 26, 28) lining stitches, knit 10 stitches, 1st row of pattern A, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, knit 1 stitch.

Continue knitting in the established order until 24 rows of the pattern are knitted 2 more times.

Add 10 repeat stitches in the next row and after 24 rows (in the 73rd row and in the 97th row) as follows:

Knit another 22 rows of the pattern in the established order.

97th row (front): 23 (29, 35, 41, 47, 53, 59) knit stitches, knit 3 times 1st row of pattern A, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left, 1 knit stitch.

Row 98: slip 1 stitch, knit 2, knit 3 times Row 2 of pattern A, purl 23 (29, 35, 41, 47, 53, 59).

Knit another 16 rows of the pattern in the established order, finishing with a purl row.

The height of the left shelf should be 38 cm from the typesetting row.

Armhole formation:

Knit 1 row straight.

Only for size XS:

Knit 2 rows straight.

121st row (front): 7 front loops, knit 4 times 1st row of pattern A, yarn over, knit 2 loops together with a slant to the left, 1 front loop.

Row 122 (purl): slip 1 stitch, knit 2, knit 4 times 2nd row of pattern A, purl 7 stitches.

Only for sizes S-3XL:

Repeat the front row of decreases - 1 loop is decreased.

Knit 1 row straight - on knitting needles - (55, 60, 66, 71, 77, 82) loops.

Decrease in each front row - (2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14) times and at the same time add a repeat of 10 loops in every 24th row - (1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3) once.

When the decreases are completed, there will be - (53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 68) stitches on the needles.

When all the repeats have been added, there will be a total of - (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6), and - (10, 3, 6, 9, 2, 5) stitches in stockinette stitch on the side.

For all sizes:

There are 50 (53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 68) stitches on the needles.

Continue knitting straight until the height of the front is 26 (26, 26, 28, 28, 28, 30) rows less than the height of the back before the shoulder bevel begins to form, finish with a purl row.

Left front neckline:

Next row (knit): Work 37 (39, 42, 44, 47, 49, 52) stitches, turn knit and move remaining 13 (14, 14, 15, 15, 16, 16) stitches onto stitch holder.

These 24 rows establish the order in which the patterns are knitted.

Pockets:

25th row (front): slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left, yarn over, 1st row of pattern B, 10 knit stitches, move next 20 (22, 22, 24, 26, 26, 28) loops on the loop holder, on the front side knit 20 (22, 22, 24, 26, 26, 28) lining loops, 13 (17, 23, 27, 31, 37, 41) front loops.

Knit another 22 rows of pattern B.

97th row (front): slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, yarn over, knit 1st row of pattern B 3 times, 23 (29, 35, 41, 47, 53, 59) knit stitches.

Row 98 (purl): 23 (29, 35, 41, 47, 53, 59) purl stitches, knit row 2 of pattern B 3 times, knit 3 stitches.

Knit another 16 rows of pattern B, ending with a purl row.

The height of the right shelf is 38 cm from the typesetting row.

Armhole formation:

Cast off 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) sts at beginning of next row - 52 (58, 63, 69, 74, 80, 85) sts on needles.

117th row (front): knit to the last 4 loops, knit 2 loops together with a slant to the right, 2 front loops - 1 loop is decreased.

118th row (purl): 2 purl loops, knit 2 loops together purlwise, knit to the end of the row - 1 loop is decreased.

Only for size XS:

Knit 2 rows straight.

121st row (front): slip 1 loop, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, yarn over, knit 4 times 1st row of pattern B, 7 knit stitches.

122nd row (purl): 7 purl loops, knit 4 times 2nd row of pattern B, 3 knit stitches.

Only for sizes S-3XL:

Repeat the front row of decreases - 1 loop is decreased.

Knit 1 row straight - on knitting needles - (55, 60, 66, 71, 77, 82) loops.

Decrease in each front row - (2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14) times and at the same time add a repeat of 10 loops in every 24th row - (1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3) once.

When the decreases are completed, there will be - (53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 68) stitches on the needles.

Continue knitting straight until the height of the front is 26 (26, 26, 28, 28, 28, 30) rows less than the height of the back before the shoulder bevel begins to form, finish with a purl row.

Right shelf neckline:

Knit 1 row straight.

Next row (purl): Knit to last 13 (14, 14, 15, 15, 16, 16) stitches and move these stitches to stitch holder - 37 (39, 42, 44, 47, 49, 52) stitches remaining on needles .

Next row (front): cast off 6 stitches at the beginning of the row, knit until the end of the row - 31 (33, 36, 38, 41, 43, 46) loops on the needles.

Next row (purl): knit to the last 4 stitches, purl 2 stitches together on the back walls, purl 2 stitches - on 30 (32, 35, 37, 40, 42, 45) stitches.

Next row: 2 knit stitches, knit 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the left, knit until the end of the row - there are 29 (31, 34, 36, 39, 41, 44) loops on the knitting needles.

Knit 1 row.

Decrease 1 stitch from the neckline side in the next row and 3 more times in every 2nd row, knitting the 3 outer stitches from the neckline side using stockinette stitch - 25 (27, 30, 32, 35, 37, 40) stitches on the needles.

Work another 14 (14, 14, 16, 16, 16, 18) rows, ending with a knit row.

Right shelf shoulder bevel:

Cast off 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13, 14) stitches at the beginning of the next row - 16 (17, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26) stitches on the needles. Knit 1 row.

Cast off 8 (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 13) stitches at the beginning of the row - 8 (8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 13) stitches on the needles. Knit 1 row.

Cast off remaining 8 (8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 13) sts.

Sleeves:

(two identical)

Using size 3 needles, cast on 48 (50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60) stitches.

Knit 10 rows with knit stitches. Change knitting needles to number 3.5.

Starting with the front row, knit 16 rows with stockinette stitch.

Continue knitting in stockinette stitch, making additions in the next row:

Row of additions (knit): 2 knit loops, add 1 loop from the broach, knit loops to the last 2 loops, add 1 loop from the broach, 2 knit loops - 2 loops added.

Work 5 (3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3) rows straight. Repeat a series of increases - 2 loops are added.

Next row (purl): 2 purl loops, purl 2 loops together, purl loops to the last 4 loops, purl 2 loops together at the back walls, purl 2 loops - 2 loops decreased.

Perform similar decreases in the next 0 (0, 0, 2, 2, 2, 4) rows and in the next knitting row, then in each knitting row 13 (16, 16, 17, 17, 20, 18) times - on needles 40 (40, 44, 46, 50, 50, 54) stitches. Knit 1 row.

Cast off 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows - 24 (24, 24, 26, 26, 26, 26) stitches on needles.

Cast off remaining 24 (24, 24, 26, 26, 26, 26) sts.

Assembly:

Steam the parts. Sew shoulder seams.

Neck strap:

Using knitting needles No. 3 and on the front side, knit 13 (14, 14, 15, 15, 16, 16) stitches on the right front from the stitch holder: slip 1 loop, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left, yarn over, 10 (11, 11, 12, 12, 13, 13) knit stitches, cast on 27 (27, 27, 29, 29, 29, 31) stitches on the right side of the neckline; 44 (46, 46, 48, 48, 50, 50) back neckline stitches; 27 (27, 27, 29, 29, 29, 31) stitches along the left side of the neckline; knit 13 (14, 14, 15, 15, 16, 16) loops of the left front from the loop holder: 10 (11, 11, 12, 12, 13, 13) knit stitches, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the right, Slip 1 stitch - there are 124 (128, 128, 136, 136, 140, 144) stitches on the needles.

Next row (purl): slip 1 stitch, knit stitches to end of row.

Next row (front): slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left, yarn over, knit stitches to the last 3 loops, yo, knit 2 loops together with a slant to the right, 1 knit stitch.

Repeat the last 2 rows 4 more times, ending with a knit row.

Bind off all stitches as knit stitches on the wrong side.

Pocket lining:

Using size 3 knitting needles and right side knit 20 (22, 22, 24, 26, 26, 28) pocket stitches from stitch holder: slip 1 stitch, knit stitches to end of row.

Repeat this row 8 more times. Close all the loops on the wrong side.

Repeat for the second pocket.

Completion:

Mark the center of the closing row of the sleeve with a marker.

Align this point with the shoulder seam at the armhole and pin the sleeve.

Sew the sleeve in place. Repeat for the second sleeve.

Sew sleeve seams and side seams.

Sew the removed loops of the tops of the pockets to the shelves.

Sew the edges of the pocket linings to the wrong side of the fronts, aligning the bottom edge of the lining with the top of the bottom edge of the front, made in the garter pattern.
