A warm knitted jacket for real men who are not afraid of the cold.

Necessary materials:

Yarn Rico Essentials Mega Wool Chunky (55% wool, 45% acrylic; 125 m / 100 grams per skein) – 10 (11, 12, 12, 13) skeins, 8 buttons.

Required tools:

Knitting needles No. 4.5, No. 5, No. 6, additional needle, stitch holders.

Knitting density:

14 stitches and 19 rows = 10x10 cm in stockinette stitch, made with size 6 needles.

Techniques used:

Cross 4 loops to the right - slip 2 loops onto an additional knitting needle while working, 2 knit loops, 2 knit loops from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 4 loops to the left - remove 2 loops onto an additional knitting needle before work, 2 knit loops, 2 knit loops from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 2 loops to the right with the purl one - slip 1 loop onto an additional knitting needle behind the work, 1 knit loop behind the back wall, 1 purl loop from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 2 loops to the left with the purl one - slip 1 loop onto an additional knitting needle before work, 1 purl loop on the wall, 1 knit loop behind the back wall from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 2 loops to the right - slip 1 loop onto an additional knitting needle behind the work, 1 knit loop behind the back wall, 1 knit loop behind the back wall from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 2 loops to the left - remove 1 loop onto an additional knitting needle before work, 1 knit loop behind the back wall, 1 knit loop behind the back wall from an additional knitting needle;

Cross 2 loops - slip 1 loop as a knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, place the removed loop over the loop you just knitted and knit it over the back wall.

Right panel:

Note: the lower height for larger sizes is due to the deeper raglan.

Rows 1-2: bind off loosely 2 (3, 4, 4, 5) loops, knit until the end of the row - 108 (114, 120, 126, 132) loops on knitting needles.

3rd row: 2 knit stitches, 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the left, knit with the established pattern until the last 4 loops, 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the right, 2 knit stitches - 2 loops decreased.

4th row: 1 front loop, 1 purl loop, 2 purl loops together, knit until the last 4 loops, 2 purl loops together behind the back walls, 1 purl loop, 1 front loop - 2 loops decreased.

Rows 5-6: same as rows 3-4 – decrease 4 stitches.

7th row: same as 3rd row – decrease 2 stitches.

8th row: 1 front loop, 2 purl loops, knit until the last 3 loops, 2 purl loops, 1 front loop.

Repeat rows 3-8 6 more times, ending with the 8th row - 38 (44, 50, 56, 62) stitches on the needles.

For sizes only M, L,1XL, 2XL:

Continuing to knit with the established pattern, begin shaping the sleeve:

Next row (knit, increase): 2 knit loops, add 1 loop from the broach, knit until the last 2 loops, add 1 loop from the broach, 2 knit loops - 2 loops added.

Repeat these increases in every 6 (6, 4, 4, 4) row until there are 58 (50, 50, 58, 66) stitches on the needles, then in every 8 (6, 6, 6, 6) - m row until there are 62 (66, 70, 74, 78) loops on the needles.

5th row: 2 knit stitches, 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the left, knit until the last 4 loops, 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the right, 2 knit stitches - 2 loops decreased.

6th row: 1 front loop, 2 purl loops, knit until the last 3 loops, 2 purl loops, 1 front loop.

Repeat the last 4 rows 4 more (3, 2, 1, 0) times, ending with the 6th row - 28 (36, 44, 54, 62) stitches on the needles.

Then repeat only rows 5 and 6 until there are 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) stitches left on the needles, ending with a purl row.

Slip stitches onto auxiliary thread.

Neck strap:

Sew raglan seams.

Using knitting needles No. 5 and on the right side, cast on and knit 20 (21, 23, 26, 27) stitches along the neck of the right front, knit 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) loops of the right sleeve, decreasing 1 loop in the center, knit 38 (40, 42, 44, 46) back stitches, evenly decreasing 5 (5, 7, 9, 9) stitches, knit 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) left sleeve stitches, decreasing 1 loop in the center, cast on and knit knit 20 (21, 23, 26, 27) stitches along the neckline of the left front - 83 (87, 91, 101, 105) stitches on needles.

1st row (purl): 2 purl loops, [1 knit stitch, 1 purl loop] - to the last loop, 1 purl loop.

2nd row: 2 knit stitches, [1 purl loop, 1 knit stitch] – to the last loop, 1 knit stitch.

Repeat these 2 rows 6 more times.

Change knitting needles to number 4.5.

Knit 10 rows with an elastic band. Close all loops.

Right shelf strapping:

Using size 5 needles, cast on 9 stitches tightly.

1st row (front): 2 front loops, [1 purl loop, 1 front loop] – 3 times, 1 front loop.

2nd row: 1 knit stitch, [1 purl loop, 1 knit stitch] – 4 times.

Repeat these 2 rows of elastic until the length of the binding, starting from the bottom edge, reaches the middle of the neck binding. Close all loops tightly.

Left shelf strapping:

On the right front trim, mark the positions of 8 buttons. The first and eighth are 4-5 rows away from the edges. The rest are distributed evenly between them.

Knit as for the right front, but make holes for buttons in the marked places:

1st row: 4 elastic loops, bind off 3 loops, knit with elastic until the end of the row.

Row 2: Rib to end of row, casting on 3 stitches above cast-off stitches.

Completion:

Sew the shelf straps to the shelves.

Sew side seams and sleeve seams.

Fold half of the neckband over to the wrong side and sew.

Sew buttons.

Steam only the seams.
