Knitted jumper with a round yoke is knitted from DROPS Nepal yarn. The product is knitted from top to bottom with a textured pattern and a double neckline.
Sizes: S – M – L – XL – XXL – XXXL
You will need:
Yarn DROPS NEPAL 400-450-500-550-600-650 g, color no. 8912, blush
Knitting density: 16 stitches and 20 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
Spokes:
DROPS stocking needles size 5.5 mm.
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 5.5 mm: line length 40 and 80 cm.
DROPS stocking needles size 4 mm.
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 4 mm: line length 40 and 80 cm for elastic.
The knitting needle sizes are given as a guideline. If there are too many stitches in a 10cm knitted pattern, use larger needles. If there are too few stitches in the 10 cm sample, take smaller needles.
Explanations for knitting:
Performing increases on the yoke:
Make 1 yarn over after the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th with a marker.
Make 1 yarn over before the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th marker.
Knit yarn overs in the next row with crossed loops so that there is no hole. Knit the added loops in a textured pattern, knit the 1st added loop in garter stitch, the 2nd in stockinette stitch, and so on. When the texture pattern is completed, knit the added stitches in stockinette stitch.
Performing increases on the sides of the sweater body:
Knit until there are 2 stitches left before the marker, 1 yarn over, k4 (the marker will remain in the middle of these loops), 1 yarn over. In the next row, knit yarn overs with crossed loops so that there is no hole. The added stitches are then knitted in stockinette stitch.
Garter stitch in the round:
1 vertical edge = 2 rows, 1 row with knit stitches, 1 row with purl stitches.
Texture Pattern:
* K1, 1 garter stitch (see explanation) *, repeat from * to * on all stitches.
Performing decreases on the sleeves:
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker as described below: Knit until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, 2 knit together with a slant to the right, 2 knits (the marker will remain between these loops), 2 knit together with a slant to the left.
Tip for closing loops:
To prevent the closed edge from being pulled, you can use larger knitting needles. Even if in this case the edge is pulled together, make 1 yarn over after approximately every 4th loop and bind off like a regular loop.
Description of knitting:
Sweater, short description of work:
The neckline and yoke are knitted in the round on circular needles from top to bottom. Next, the work is divided into body and sleeves. The body is knitted in the round down on circular needles, the sleeves are knitted in the round down on stocking needles.
Double neck:
Cast on 88-88-96-96-104-104 stitches per strand using Nepal yarn on 4mm circular needles. Knit an elastic band (= 1k/1p) to a height of 11 cm (later fold the neck in half and its height will be 5 cm).
In the next row, knit all stitches, evenly decreasing 8 stitches per row = 80-80-88-88-96-96 stitches.
Mark the beginning of the row with 1 marker (= approximately the middle of the back), measure the yoke from this marker.
Yoke:
Change the knitting needles to circular ones size 5.5 mm. Knit a textured pattern (see knitting instructions). When 2 rows have been knitted, place 8 markers without knitting stitches (mark individual stitches with markers):
Place the 1st marker on the 7th-7th-9th-9th-9th-9th stitch.
Place the 2nd marker on the 13th-13th-15th-15th-15th-15th stitch.
Place the 3rd marker on the 27th-27th-31st-31st-33rd-33rd stitch.
Place the 4th marker on the 33rd-33rd-37th-37th-39th-39th stitch.
Place the 5th marker on the 47th-47th-53rd-53rd-57th-57th stitch.
Place the 6th marker on the 53rd-53rd-59th-59th-63rd-63rd stitch.
Place the 7th marker on the 67th-67th-75th-75th-81st-81st stitch.
Place the 8th marker on the 73rd-73rd-81st-81st-87th-87th stitch.
In the next row, add 1 loop next to each marker (see explanation for knitting) = 8 loops added. The number of loops before the 1st marker, between the 2nd and 3rd markers, between the 4th and 5th markers, between the 6th and 7th markers and after the 8th marker will remain unchanged. The added stitches should be between the 1m and 2m, 3m and 4m, 5m and 6m, 7m and 8m markers.
Remember the knitting density!
Increase in every 2nd row a total of 15-17-19-23-24-27 times, in every 4th row 1 time and in every 6th row 1 time = 216-232-256-288-304 -328 loops.
You should now be knitting about 19-21-23-27-28-31 cm from the neck marker. Next, knit in stockinette stitch (for sizes SML) until 21-23-24-27-28-31 cm are worked from the neck marker.
Next, divide the knitting into the body and sleeves as described below:
Work the first 31-33-36-41-44-49 stitches (= half back), slip the next 46-50-56-62-64-66 stitches onto the holder (= sleeve) and cast on an additional 8-8-8-8 -10-10 undercut stitches, knit 62-66-72-82-88-98 stitches (=front), slip the next 46-50-56-62-64-66 stitches onto the holder (=sleeve) and cast on an additional 8- 8-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches, knit remaining 31-33-36-41-44-49 stitches (= half back).
Body:
On knitting needles = 140-148-160-180-196-216 stitches.
Place 1 marker in the middle of the newly cast on 8-8-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches (on the sides). There should be 70-74-80-90-98-108 stitches between markers. Move the markers down as you knit, they mark the places of further increases on the body.
When 4 cm from the division is knitted, add 1 loop on each side of the markers (see explanation for knitting) = 4 loops added.
Repeat increase on sides every 4 cm for a total of 3 times = 152-160-172-192-208-228 stitches.
When 26-26-27-26-27-26 cm from the division are knitted, evenly increase 10-11-11-12-11-12 stitches for 1 next row = 162-171-183-204-219-240 stitches.
Change the knitting needles to 4 mm circular knitting needles and knit 1 k/2 rib to a height of 4 cm. Cast off the stitches (see knitting instructions).
Sleeve:
Slip 46-50-56-62-64-66 stitches from the holder onto 5.5 mm double needles and pick up 1 stitch over each of the previously cast on 8-8-8-8-10-10 undercut stitches = 54-58- 64-70-74-76 stitches. Place a marker in the middle of these 8-8-8-8-10-10 stitches. Move the marker as you knit the sleeve, it marks the place where further decreases will be made.
Knit in stockinette stitch in the round. When 3 cm from the division is knitted, decrease 1 loop on each side of the marker (see explanation for knitting) = decrease 2 loops.
Repeat decrease every 3-2½-2-1½-1-1 cm for a total of 6-7-9-11-12-12 times = 42-44-46-48-50-52 stitches. When the sleeve measures 32-32-31-29-27-25 from the division, add 0-1-2-0-1-2 stitches evenly = 42-45-48-48-51-54 stitches. Change the needles to stocking needles size 4 mm and knit an elastic band (K1/P2) in the round to a height of 10 cm. Bind off the stitches as knit stitches.
Knit the second sleeve in the same way.
Assembly:
Fold the elastic at the neck in half and sew it on the wrong side. It is important that the seam is elastic so that the neckline is not pulled together.
