This spacious, super-light oversized cardigan is knitted using three threads of the finest mohair and silk. An exquisite detail is the bar in the form of a relief “braid”.

You will need: Austermann Kid Silk yarn (75% mohair, 25% silk; 25 g/225 m) - 12 (12) 13 (13) skeins of lilac (color 24); knitting needles No. 9 and 10; hook No. 5; auxiliary knitting needle.
Knitting density: front stitch with thread in 3 folds (knitting needles No. 10) - 10 sts x 12 r. = 10 x 10 cm.
Elastic circle, in rows and rows in forward and reverse directions: knit alternately k1, p1.
Facial surface: in front rows - front loops, in purl rows - purl stitches.
Purl stitch: in the front rows - purl loops, in the purl rows - front loops.
Braid pattern (12 p.): knit according to the pattern. Only front rows are given. In purl stitches, purl all stitches. Knit 1 time 1-12th r., then repeat 5-12th r.
Emphasized decreases: at the beginning of the row: chrome, knit 1, purl 2, 12 braid sts, purl 2, knit 1, knit 2 sts together with a slant to the left (= remove 1 st as knit, 1 faces., pull it through the removed loop); at the end of the row: knit until the last 21 sts, knit 2 sts together, knit 1, purl 2, braid 12 sts, purl 2, knit 1, chrome.

Description of work:
Back: on knitting needles No. 9 with a thread in 3 additions, cast on 62 (66) 70 (74) sts and knit with an 8 cm elastic band. Switch to knitting needles No. 10 and knit in stockinette stitch.
After 60 (59) 58 (57) cm from the cast-on row for the armholes, close 5 sts on both sides = 52 (56) 60 (64) sts.
After 80 cm from the cast-on row, bind off all the loops.
Right shelf: On knitting needles No. 9, with a thread in 3 additions, cast on 36 (38) 40 (42) sts and knit with an elastic band of 8 cm.
Switch to needles No. 10 and knit as follows: chrome, 1 stitch in stockinette stitch, 2 stitches in purl stitch, 8 knits. (= 1st row in the diagram), 2 stitches in purl stitch, 21 (23) 25 (27) stitches in stockinette stitch, chrome.
In the next row (= knit row = 3rd row in the diagram) perform 4 increases for the “braid” pattern = 40 (42) 44 (46) sts.
After 55 cm from the cast-on row for the neckline on the right side, subtract 1 stitch and in every 2nd row. another 12 x 1 p. At the same time, after 60 (59) 58 (57) cm from the cast-on row for the armhole on the left side, close 5 p.
In the last front row, before the shoulder decreases, reduce the 4 stitches added for the “braid” pattern, for which you knit 4 x 2 stitches together with a tilt to the left.
After 80 cm from the cast-on row, close the remaining 18 (20) 22 (24) shoulders.
Left shelf: knit mirror the right shelf.
Sleeves: On knitting needles No. 9, using 3-fold thread, cast on 26 stitches for each sleeve and knit with an 8 cm elastic band.
Switch to needles No. 10 and knit in stockinette stitch, while in the 1st row. evenly add 10 sts = 36 sts.
For side bevels of sleeves on both sides in every 12th r. from the elastic band add 3 x 1 p. (in every 8th r. 4 x 1 p.) in every 8th r. 2 x 1 p. and in every 6th r. 3 x 1 p. (in every 6th row 3 x 1 p. and in every 4th row 3 x 1 p.) = 42 (44) 46 (48) p.
Place a mark 45 (43) 41 (39) cm from the cast-on row on both sides.
After 50 (48) 46 (44) cm from the cast-on row, close the loops.
Assembly: Pin the details onto the pattern, moisten and let dry. Use a mattress stitch to sew the shoulder seams. Sew in the sleeves, paying attention to the marks on the diagram. Use a mattress stitch to sew the side seams and sleeve seams.
Tie part of the back neckline with crochet number 5 using 3 folds of 1 thread in a row of single crochets. Thread all the threads.
